Dr. Reed received his Bachelor of Science degree with Suma Cum Laude honors from the University of Memphis and attended medical school at the University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences in Memphis. During medical school, he received a scholarship with the United States Navy and completed his residency and fellowship within the military. He completed internship and residency at the Naval Hospital in Portsmouth Virginia and served two years with the Marine Corps in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He completed his fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, National Naval Medical Center, and National Institutes of Health in Washington D.C. After completing his military commitment at Walter Reed, he joined the private sector. Initially, he joined a cancer center in Charlotte, N.C. but when an opening developed in Memphis, he joined the West Clinic in 2001.
Dr. Reed treats patients in our Memphis and Corinth offices. Dr. Reed is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology. His specialty treats cervical, ovarian, uterine, vaginal, and vulvar malignancies. Additionally, he treats women referred by their gynecologist with pre-invasive conditions such as cervical, vaginal, and vulvar dysplasia along with severe endometriosis. Dr. Reed is also one of a select group of surgeons in the country performing robotic surgery for gynecologic procedures and a founding member of the Memphis Robotic Surgery Society. Recently, with the addition of doctors Tillmanns and Santoso who teach at the University of Tennessee, Dr Reed has had the opportunity to rekindle his dream of teaching residents in training.
